BBC Worldwide has struck a deal with iTunes, making shows including Doctor Who and Torchwood available for download in Canada.

The deal is the first of its kind for Beeb shows in Canada, and also includes season 11 of the automotive series Top Gear.

‘BBC shows air on a number of Canadian channels, including BBC Canada, and have a huge loyal following,’ said COO Hilary Read in a statement. The deal is said to include other titles due to be announced in the coming weeks.

In a separate deal, BBC Worldwide has also sold the preschooler series 3rd & Bird to Treehouse. The animated series is set to debut in September.
