Minnie Driver, Rosamund Pike and Rachelle Lefevre joined the cast of Robert Lantos’ production of Barney’s Version — starring alongside Paul Giamatti and Dustin Hoffman.
Lefevre will portray the free-spirited first wife of the title character, played by Giamatti. Driver plays the less likeable Mrs. ‘P’, the second wife, while Pike is Miriam, the love of Barney’s life and his third wife. Hoffman plays Barney’s his father.
Casting director Deirdre Bowen (The Listener, Blindness) was assisted by Nina Gold in London, Teresa Razzauti in Rome, Andrea Kenyon in Montreal and Pam Dixon in L.A.
Lefevre, a Montreal native who also has a recurring role in the Twilight movies as the vampire Victoria, is repped by Paul Hemrend from Edna Talent in Toronto.
Driver (The Riches) is represented by Kat Gosling for Finch & Partner in London as well as Michael Katcher and Kelly Tiffan O’Connor from Creative Artists Agency in L.A. Pike, who also appeared in the Lantos production Fugitive Pieces, is with PFD in London, repped by Dallas Smith.
Barney’s Version is based on the novel by Mordechi Richler which follows a man as he stumbles through life, multiple marriages and the accusation that he murdered his best friend. It is due to start shooting next month in Rome, produced by Lantos and directed by Richard Lewis. Michael Konyves adapted the script.
