ACTRA members have ratified a new agreement with the CFTPA and the APFTQ, taking a 2% pay increase each year for the next three years.
The remaining terms of the Independent Production Agreement remain unchanged, following generally co-operative talks between the union and the producers associations in the spring.
The actors union says its members voted 98.3% in favor of the new deal.
‘With this ratified agreement in place, we can focus our efforts on strengthening our industry and creating more work opportunities for performers,’ said newly appointed president Ferne Downey in a statement.
The IPA covers performers in all film, television and new media production in Canada, except for B.C., where the UBCP negotiates separately.
The new deal runs from Jan. 1, 2010 to Dec. 31, 2012.
