Peregrym to lead Copper

Reaper‘s Missy Peregrym has been cast as the lead in the new series Copper.

The Montreal-born actress will star in the E1 Television series as Andy McNally, a recent police academy graduate and the daughter of a homicide detective. The drama, which begins shooting the week of July 13 for Global and ABC, follows a group of rookie cops.

Peregrym recently starred in The CW supernatural series Reaper, now cancelled, and has had recurring roles on Heroes and Smallville. She also starred in the 2006 gymnast comedy Stick It.

Peregrym is repped by The Gersh Agency and Jai Khanna from Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

Further casting will be announced in the upcoming weeks, according to E1. Copper is slated to debut in January, simulcast on Global and ABC.
