Movie Central and The Movie Network have unveiled plans for a raft of series and specials due to air in 2010, including an eight-part adaptation of the Ken Follett thriller The Pillars of the Earth and a new comedy from George F. Walker and Dani Romain.
Pillars of the Earth is an eight-part mini from Muse Entertainment, Tandem Communications and Scott Free Productions, now in preproduction, with Donald Sutherland and Ian McShane (Kings, Deadwood) signed to star.
The pay-TV channels are also attached to Living in Your Car, a half-hour comedy and the latest from Walker and Romain – of This Is Wonderland and The Line – with an assist from lead director and creative consultant David Steinberg (Curb Your Enthusiasm).
Also due in 2010 is Muse’s The Phantom, a four-hour mini and reworking of the 1930s comic strip hero. The copro with the Sci-Fi Channel stars Ryan Carnes (Desperate Housewives) and Sandrine Holt (24).
