Aux heads to cable

Rogers Cable is getting a new digital specialty this fall, and has picked up GlassBox Television’s cross-platform music channel Aux.

The channel has been online since November, and was approved by the CRTC for a Category 2 licence in March.

Pegged as ‘Real Music Television,’ Aux content features musical groundbreakers and rising artists from around the world. Original series include the urban music magazine Cypher and the current events and interview show ExploreMusic with Alan Cross.

Aux also recently partnered with Exclaim! TV’s Garageland and CBC Radio 3’s R3TV, which will run its reports on music news and events from around the world this fall.

In a statement, GlassBox co-CEO Raja Khanna called the launch on Rogers a ‘key next step’ in Aux’s strategy to bring its brand of music television to Canadian audiences.
