The short film project Cold Morning, a collaboration between visual artist Mark Lewis and the National Film Board, has been selected to represent Canada at this month’s 53rd International Art Exhibition in Venice.
The NFB co-produced three of the four Cold Morning films to be featured at the famed contemporary art show: Nathan Phillips Square, A Winters Night and TD Centre, 54th Floor. Those titles will also be distributed worldwide by the NFB.
The exhibit marks the first time the NFB has taken part in the exhibit, also known as the La Biennale di Venezia.
‘As a cultural institution that represents Canada to the film world, we look forward to our first Biennale as creative partners and reaching a whole new audience of open minds and artistic spirits from around the globe’ said the NFB’s Silva Basmajianin a statement.
