Ceeb orders more Mechanicals

Halifax Film and its bosses at DHX Media have scored a three-peat with CBC and Animal Mechanicals, selling a third season (15 x 11) of its preschooler show about mythical creatures.

The deal comes amid further deals for the series. Phase 4 Films is preparing a home release for both English and French Canada this fall, while TG4 in Ireland recently bought seasons one and two (40 x 11). The CG series also runs on some Disney Channels and other outlets, and is looking to expand into licensing and merchandising, starting at next month’s Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas.

‘The show is proving to be very popular with preschoolers and their parents, and we are being inundated with requests for home video and toys,’ said Josh Scherba, VP of distribution at DHX’s sales wing, Decode Enterprises.
