New Judge, Wolf series bow on Citytv

Citytv’s summer lineup of new reality series and comedies includes a couple that put a new twist on the ever-popular Bachelor(ette) muster.

Hitched or Ditched is about people who are very different from the marriage hopefuls seen on The Bachelor series. The show, which airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m., is about long-term couples who are reluctant to make it to the altar. Each of the six one-hour episodes focuses on a couple who has been nominated by a friend to set a wedding date in seven days.

Also new is The Goode Family, a half-hour animated sitcom from Mike Judge (King of the Hill) about a family obsessed with doing the ‘right’ thing environmentally, politically and socially. It targets 18-34s and is scheduled for Wednesdays at 9 p.m., for six episodes.

Based on the successful series from producer Dick Wolf, Law & Order: UK airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. starting June 11. The one-hour series follows two detectives — Bradley Walsh of Coronation Street and Jamie Bamber of Battlestar Galactica — as they solve gruesome crimes committed in Great Britain.

Krod Mandoon, a comedy set in a fantasy world, follows a reluctant leader (Sean Maguire of Meet the Spartans) and his band of incompetent freedom fighters. Together, the unlikely heroes fight against a sinister ruler. The series premieres Wednesday, July 8 at 10 p.m., and will run episodes back-to-back as half-hours for three weeks.

From the creator of The Bachelor comes a dating series about full-figured singles. More to Love premieres Tuesday, July 28 and is about a single, average guy with a big waist romancing several confident and secure plus-size women. The show, targeting women aged 18 to 49, is scheduled to run for six episodes.

Regis Philbin is back on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in a two-week-long special event honoring the 10th anniversary of the game show. The 11-episode run will air Sunday through Thursday starting Aug. 9.
