TVA Films has snagged the Canadian rights to the Paris Hilton documentary Paris, Not France.
The film is directed by newcomer Adria Petty — the daughter of musician Tom Petty — and takes a close-up look at the so-called ‘new media’ star and heiress. A release date has yet to be determined.
Paris, Not France made its Canadian debut in the Real to Reel program at the Toronto International Film Festival last year. The doc features Hilton talking about her infamous sex tape and the pressure of living under the spotlight. It also features commentary from the Hilton family and Donald Trump.
‘For Paris Hilton, her image is a game, but now she wants to be known for something else other than the click of the camera on the red carpet,’ commented Yves Dion, president of the Montreal-based distributor, in a release.
