L.A.-based management and production company The Gotham Group has inked a deal to represent Cuppa Coffee Studios exclusively.
With an eye to transitioning Cuppa Coffee’s stop-motion animation expertise to feature films, Gotham is looking to position the Toronto company as one of the top three stop-motion shops to U.S. film studios. Cuppa Coffee (Celebrity Deathmatch, Life’s a Zoo) is currently in production on a 20 eps of The Tornante Company’s Glenn Martin, DDS for Nick at Nite.
‘Cuppa Coffee Studios has an excellent pedigree and reputation as a stop-motion studio and is uniquely placed to optimize it’s location within Canada to further appeal to the U.S. studios,’ said Julie Kane-Ritsch, head of animation at Gotham, in a statement. ‘We are thrilled to have this opportunity to work with such an esteemed creative team.’
