Halifax Film’s Mighty Jungle will be getting some young American explorers, following a pickup by PBS Sprout. The preschool puppet series, distributed by Decode Enterprises, will debut on April 24, part of the channel’s Earth Day programming. The deal was unveiled at MIPTV.
The show’s concept ‘is right in line with Sprout’s hands-on approach to inspiring parent-preschooler interaction and encouraging viewers to share their children’s ideas, crafts, videos and photos directly with the network,’ said Andrew Beecham, SVP of programming at the cable/satellite channel, in a statement.
Sprout is available in more than 47 million U.S. homes. The 46 x 11 series was commissioned by CBC and has recently been sold to Disney Channels in Asia and Latin America.
