Portfolio Entertainment and Teletoon are developing a comedy/adventure about teens who ‘defend the Earth from all manner of weirdness and danger’ with super-powered hoodies. The half-hour Hoods, unveiled at MIPTV, is aimed at a tween audience and comes from creator Howie Shia and story editor Mark Leiren-Young.

The Toronto production company says the show will combine various animation styles including digital 2D.

‘We think Hood is an exciting idea with a lot of possibilities. We’re excited by this show’s innovative look and the new spin on the classic super hero team,’ said Michael Goldsmith, director original content at Teletoon.
