Bitchin’ Kitchen is headed to Food Network Canada, which has greenlit the spunky cooking show from Tricon Films & Television, set to air in the spring of 2010.
The 6 x 30 series, which started out as online shorts and became popular on YouTube and iTunes, follows host Nadia G, dubbed the ‘anti-Rachael Ray,’ on a riotous romp through the kitchen. The Toronto shop is debuting the series at next week’s MIPTV.
Tricon is also shopping the 2004 documentary Edge Codes, about the history of motion picture editing, at the market. The film features notables including George Lucas, Norman Jewison, Michael Ondaatje, and the editor of Martin Scorsese’s Raging Bull and The Aviator.
Also headed to MIPTV from Tricon’s slate are the documentary 21 Days to Nawroz, about experimental democracy in Kurdistan and its effects on three different women, season two of the sci-fi series Sanctuary, and the docusoap Marriage Under Construction.
