Chloe continues in wake of accident

Work on Atom Egoyan’s Chloe continued on Tuesday despite the departure of Liam Neeson, who has left Toronto to be by his ailing wife’s side following her ski accident.

A spokesperson said on Tuesday that cast and crew, though ‘greatly saddened’ by the news, will for now work around the absent leading man, shooting scenes that focus on other characters.

‘At this time, the film will continue with its production schedule,’ said Lisa Ghione.

Neeson flew from Toronto on Monday following word that his wife, actress Natasha Richardson, had been injured while skiing near the Mont Tremblant resort in Quebec. She was admitted to Sacré-Coeur Hospital in Montreal.

Her condition remains unclear, though reports suggest that the Tony-winning actress and mother of two has suffered serious head injuries. She was, at one point on Tuesday afternoon, reported by one outlet to have succumbed to her injuries, though that story was quickly retracted.

By early evening, Richardson had reportedly left Sacré-Coeur to be flown back to the U.S., according to a hospital official, who spoke to Associated Press. A statement from the family is expected on Wednesday.

Chloe, a sexually charged thriller borrowed from the French film Nathalie, stars Julianne Moore as a suspicious wife who hires another woman to prove that her husband, played by Neeson, is unfaithful. Amanda Seyfried also stars.
