Beyond Distribution has picked up two series from Toronto’s Temple Street Productions, and will debut both Mr. Friday and 10 this month at MIPTV.
The 13 x 30 reality Mr. Friday follows ‘trust fund baby’ Derek Friday as he switches places every week with a hardworking, deserving ‘swapee’ in exchange for a weekly trust-fund cheque from his wealthy mom.
The similarly themed 13 x 30 Spoiled Rotten puts the spotlight on well-to-do families, who are taken from their comfortable surroundings and dropped into challenging situations. Both series air on Slice in Canada.
‘We were immediately very keen to take on such great Canadian content when we saw the programs,’ commented Beyond GM Fiona Crago, adding the shows are a ‘great fit for our existing catalogue.’
Temple Street’s other credits include Canada’s Next Top Model, How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? and Queer as Folk. Beyond has offices in Sydney, Dublin, London and Washington.
