Border, Guard cross unguarded border

Ion Television has picked up both The Border and The Guard, and will add the action-y series to its fall schedule following separate deals with Fireworks and Lionsgate.

The fledgling Florida-based network – which reaches 94 million households in the U.S. – took all of the TV, digital, Internet and VOD rights for both shows. The Border, which airs here on CBC, comes to Ion via a deal with Fireworks International, while Lionsgate brokered the arrival of The Guard, broadcast on Global.

The network, once known as Pax, has a history of running Canadian-made shows, having aired both Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye and Doc earlier this decade.
