Paula Brancati of Degrassi: The Next Generation has landed the lead in National Tree, an MOW for Hallmark Channel in the U.S. Brancati, who also appears on CBC’s Being Erica, will play an ‘adventurous, bubbly, and free-spirited’ teen girl who falls in love with a lad over the Internet.
The role puts Brancati, who is repped by Shari Quallenberg at AMI Artist Management, alongside Andrew McCarthy (Lipstick Jungle) and fellow D:TNG regular Evan Williams. Williams is also represented at AMI, by Nancy Brown.
The MOW is set to shoot in and around Hamilton, ON into early April. Graeme Campbell, who has also worked on Degrassi and its sibling Instant Star, directs.
