It’s going to be a busy year for 9 Story Entertainment, which has announced a number of projects.
Survive This is a 13 x 22 live-action that follows eight teenagers as they test their survival skills in the wilderness for three weeks. The series, which includes Les ‘Survivorman’ Stroud, is set to air on YTV in April.
On the animation front, the Toronto company is coproducing Wibbly Pig with U.K.-based Wish Films. The new 52 x 10 series, based on award-winning books by Mick Inkpen, is slated for a fall delivery. 9 Story will co-distribute the series with BBC Worldwide and has already snapped up broadcast agreements with TVOntario and Knowledge Network in Canada.
Meanwhile, Best Ed, the 52 x 11 original series about a dog and his squirrel friend Buddy, is slated for completion this April and has already been presold to Cartoon Network for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and to ABC Australia. Season four of Peep and the Big Wide World, six new eps, will return to TVO, Knowledge and SRC.
