The Channel 4 BRITDOC Foundation has partnered with the Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program to bring the doc pitching forum, The Good Pitch, to the Hot Docs fest in Toronto and to Silverdocs in Washington, DC.
The Good Pitch is concerned with docs that cause social change. The social-issue projects are pitched to NGOs, charities, foundations, campaigners, advertising agencies, brands and media.
‘The Good Pitch is a new evolution in the ‘pitch forum’ format,’ said Sundance’s Cara Mertes in a statement. ‘It absolutely fits our focus on supporting human rights and social-issue documentary films with broad impact.’
The first Good Pitch was held at the BRITDOC festival in 2008. It will make its first stop at Hot Docs May 6-7, part of the fest’s Toronto Documentary Forum.
