Actors honor Oh

Grey’s Anatomy star Sandra Oh will next week receive the ACTRA Award of Excellence, the union announced Wednesday, acknowledging the Ottawa-born actress’ work on both sides of the border.

ACTRA national president Richard Hardacre is scheduled to present the prize to Oh at the residence of the consul general of Canada in L.A., David Fransen. The award is handed out every two years to a member working predominantly in L.A. In 2007, it went to Kiefer Sutherland and before that to Tonya Lee Williams of The Young and the Restless.

Coming to light in the early ’90s through projects including The Diary of Evelyn Lau and Double Happiness, Oh went on to star in the HBO series Arli$$ and has more recently appeared in films including 3 Needles, Blindness and the indie smash Sideways.
