Entertainment One has closed a deal with Lightning Media, taking the Canadian and U.K. rights to all films from the California outfit through 2010.
The deal, negotiated by Lightning co-bosses Rich Goldberg and Paul Gardner and E1’s Lara Thompson, will see upcoming titles including Amy Redford’s The Guitar, the George Lopez comedy Tortilla Heaven and the sci-fi Warbirds, handled by here E1 Films Canada and overseas by E1 Films/Contender.
‘Canada and the U.K. are obviously key territories for international distribution and we know our films are in great hands with the E1 team,’ said Goldberg in a statement on Tuesday.
Lightning Media is the distribution wing of Lightning Entertainment Group and handles rights for theatrical distribution, DVD, TV and other platforms.
