Series on health and empowerment return for second seasons this month on APTN.
Miywayawin, which takes its name from the Cree word for ‘well-being,’ looks at environmental and health issues like clean water, sexuality, diabetes and addiction for their target demographic of 25 to 54 year-olds. Starting Jan. 14, the 13-part info show from Saskatchewan-based Blue Hill Productions airs Wednesdays at 10 pm on APTN HD.
Broadcast in French and produced by Quebec’s Nish Media, La Piqure, follows teens as they job-shadow professionals in their ideal line of work — from farming to law.
‘Over a period of four days they play a role in the lives of the person who share their passion,’ says Sylvia Kolopenuk, manager of communications at the Aboriginal-aimed channel, which reaches about 10 million homes in Canada. La Piqure airs Mondays at 4 pm on APTN’s eastern feed and APTN HD.
