New program test-flies at Telefilm

Telefilm Canada is trying out a new educational program for producers, directors and screenwriters. Multiplatform, Multi-success! — a three-day workshop put forth recently by the funding agency — is a pilot effort aimed at helping French- and English-language creatives working in ‘minority language situations.’

The workshop will explore ‘the creation and exploitation of content in a multiplatform setting’ and is an extension of Telefilm’s Official Languages Activities. It is intended for makers of both film and TV who ‘want to go the multiplatform route.’ It is also open, however, to new media professionals who are looking to learn more about audiovisual work.

Applications are being accepted until Jan. 29. See www.telefilm.gc.ca for details.

The workshop for French-language creators will take place in Montreal Feb. 23-25, while English-language creators will meet March 9-11.
