Christmas present for NSI

Rogers Communications and the Women in Media Foundation have put $147,500 into the National Screen Institute, funding training programs aimed at women.

The contribution revealed Friday will be spread over four years, going to NSI Storytellers, NSI Totally Television and other programs offered by the Winnipeg-based school. The funding will support training for women from Alberta and Manitoba, in particular ‘women of Aboriginal heritage, of colour, from ethnocultural communities, or women who have disabilities.’

‘This new funding will help ensure the continued training and advancement of women in the industry, particularly those of diverse backgrounds who bring very valuable perspectives to film and TV,’ said Rogers VP Alain Strati in a statement.
