Two new original comedies are hitting CMT this winter. Targeting the 25-54 demo of college-educated, middle-class suburbanites, Three Chords from the Truth follows an ambitious woman — played by Gemini winner Phyllis Ellis (The Wilkinsons) — as she attempts to survive life after 40 as head of a struggling country music TV network.
The first run of the series from Henry Less Productions (The Wilkinsons) spans five weeks, with back-to-back episodes every Sunday, premiering Jan. 25 at 10 p.m. (All times Eastern.)
All About…, meanwhile, focuses on the lives and careers of country music stars including Johnny Reid, LeAnn Rimes, Brooks & Dunn and Trace Adkins. Each half-hour, beginning on Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. , follows a different star’s road to success through interviews and video clips.
CMT is available to 9.5 million households in Canada.
