Multi-platform components including video-on-demand and mobisodes will complement the seventh season of 24 next month, when the Fox series returns to Global’s primetime schedule.

The expanded platform will include full-length episodes from the new season, to be available online the day after each broadcast at www.globaltv.com. VOD access to the latest episodes will be available free of charge through Rogers On Demand, while 120 mobisodes, currently housed at www.watch24now.com, will be accessible through web-enabled mobile devices.

The mobisodes, said to be first of their kind in Canada, are two-minute clips summarizing the twists and turns of each episode, seasons one through five. Mobile debriefs from season six are also part of the mix. Another five have been created in anticipation of the new season launch.

The season’s two-night four-hour premiere begins Jan. 11 at 8 p.m. ET, concluding on Jan. 12. Subsequent episodes of 24 will broadcast Mondays at 9 p.m. ET, starting Jan. 19. Global will also rerun the two-hour movie 24: Redemption on Jan. 4.
