A certain Swiss penguin has a new home north of the border. HIT Entertainment and APTN have struck a deal, revealed on Monday, that will bring The Pingu Show to the channel’s kids programming block this fall. The deal is the first between HIT and the aboriginal-aimed cable channel, which reaches some 10 million households in Canada.
APTN will air 74 episodes of the stop-motion series — in English on Wednesdays at 8 a.m. and Thursdays at 8:30 a.m., and in French on Sundays and Mondays at 8 a.m. The series, about a family of penguins that live in Antarctica, debuted in 1986. It has aired previously on channels including TVO.
