TVOntario has struck a deal with YouTube that will see programs including Your Voice and its flagship current affairs program The Agenda with Steve Paikin featured on the online video site.
Ad revenues from a YouTube channel, due to launch in early 2009, will be shared with the Ontario educaster as part of the agreement, which was revealed on Thursday.
The move is the latest in a series by TVO away from traditional broadcasting and toward being a fully digital, multi-platform media organization. The channel is also planning distribution arrangements with companies including Yahoo! Canada and Joost.
The YouTube presence will enable users to subscribe to TVO-produced programs and share content from selected playlists.
