Canwest is expanding its online offerings following a deal with Fox for full episodes of shows including Prison Break, Bones and Family Guy.
The three series go online this week and next, though it is not known if it will run recent or older episodes. The deal also includes season six and seven of 24, which will be offered online beginning in January, about the time its E! network is due to air season seven.
Calls for comment were not returned by press time. The agreement announced Wednesday also includes behind-the-scenes footage, video extras and mobisodes.
‘This Fox partnership rounds out our robust line up of streaming rights for major US network hit show titles,’ commented Canwest content boss Barbara Williams in a release. Full episodes of other U.S. series including House, Heroes, The Office and 90210 are already available on globaltv.com and eonline.com following a deal closed in August.
It’s been a busy week for Fox, which earlier this week announced a partnership with CTV and the BBC to produce the big-budget adventure series Defying Gravity.
