Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is headed back to the airwaves through a deal with John Brunton and his Insight Production Company. The new series will be a co-venture (or ‘one-hour weekly ‘shockumentary”) showcasing odd findings gathered from around the world by the gang at Ripley’s.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Shockingly True Stories will shoot on location, and follows a deal revealed earlier this month between Insight (Canadian Idol) and FremantleMedia Enterprises to pool resources on series development and production. It will be the third series to bear the Ripley’s brand. Ripley’s Believe It or Not! covered similar ground from 1982 to 1986 under host Jack Palance, and again from 1999 to 2003 with Dean Cain.
