May, Bolch go Undercover

Heroic Film Company and Shaftesbury Films have a green light for Connor Undercover, and have begun production on the 13 x 30 tween series for Family Channel. The series, due to air in 2010, comes from creators John May and Suzanne Bolch, whose credits include writing duties on the Shaftesbury series Life with Derek.

‘Shaftesbury has wanted to work on another project with John May, Suzanne Bolch and their team for a while now,’ said Shaftesbury boss Christina Jennings in a statement.

The series stars Max Morrow (St. Urbain’s Horseman) as a teen boy who is fascinated with spies and with his exotic neighbor, played by newcomer Lola Tash. Jordan Francis (Camp Rock) also stars.

The project bowed this month at MIPCOM, touting interactive components developed by Heroic’s Karen Lee Hall. The company says each episode will also feature an original song, sung by Francis. Shaftesbury is coproducing the series, now shooting in Toronto.
