Movieola has bought into PropellerTV, sending its short-form programming into Europe. The companies announced on Monday that the Canadian all-shorts film channel is moving to buy a majority share of Propeller, a U.K.-based broadcaster that beams programming to some eight million subscribers via the Sky satellite network.
Roman Podzyhun, president and CEO of Channel Zero, which runs Movieola, says the move will ‘provide a boost in exposure for Canadian films and filmmakers abroad.’
Completion of the agreement is subject to approval by the boards of both companies, expected before the end of November. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
