CBS orders more Flashpoint

CBS has followed CTV’s lead and signed up for another 13 episodes of Flashpoint, extending the cop drama’s life in the U.S. into next year.

Flashpoint landed a second season deal with CTV late last month, paving the way for an expected renewal by CBS. The series by Avamar Entertainment and Pink Sky Entertainment has been simulcasting on the U.S. and Canadian nets since the summer, averaging an eye-popping 1.1 million viewers north of the border and softer, though still solid numbers stateside, where it plays to about seven million.

The series hit a personal best on CTV with its most recent episode, averaging just over 1.4 million viewers on Sept. 18. Season two is due to begin shooting next year.
