New text messaging options and an online, at-home voting system will be available for the season finale of the hit series The Next Star when it airs live from Paramount Canada’s Wonderland on YTV. The one-hour finale on Sept. 28 will also see the top six contestants performing their own single.

The winner will record a single with Universal Music Canada, make a professional music video and receive personal guidance from music industry hit-makers. All six singers will have a song included on The Next Star CD, scheduled to be released in October. The live show will feature performances by Universal Music acts including band Faber Drive and series mentor Suzie McNeil.

YTV will also air previous episodes on Sept. 27 and Sept. 28.
