Rogers Video will change its name to Rogers Plus beginning this month, tweaking the name of its retail outlets in a nod to the company’s trade in cellphones, video games and other services.
The transformation will see approximately 450 stores change their signage this month in Ottawa and the B.C. interior, followed by Ontario in September and October. Also, sub-signage will now include a list of products and services. To promote the name change, a multimedia campaign is being developed by Toronto-based agency Publicis.
‘This change reflects our continuing commitment to movies and games while at the same time increasing the presence of Rogers Cable and Rogers Wireless products and services in our stores,’ explains Chuck van der Lee, president and CEO for the retail wing at Rogers.
‘Home video and game rentals continue to be a thriving, vibrant industry in Canada and we are committed to this part of our business,’ he adds.
