TVO, W pick up U.K. series

TVO and W Network have added new U.K. fare to their schedules, in recent separate deals with London-based Outright Distribution.

TVO has acquired the lifestyle series Admission Impossible, which will launch as part of its ‘back-to-school’ week in September. The 2 x 60 show follows parents and kids as they overcome obstacles to attend the schools of their choice. In November, TVO will launch the series Mummy Diaries, in which a psychologist teaches mothers with an incurable illness how to say goodbye to their children.

The broadcaster also picked up lifestyle series Born to Be Different, My New Home and Child Genius, which will air in 2009. Dates are yet to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, Corus Entertainment’s W bought the property series Open House (20 x 30), which teaches homeowners tricks for staging a successful open house and drumming up potential buyers. The series, which premiered July 10, airs Thursdays at 10 p.m.
