Three emerging Canuck producers will get a chance to attend and screen their work at the New York Television Festival in September as part of the TV Festival PassPort Program.
The artist exchange program is part of a newly forged relationship between NYTVF and the Banff World Television Festival. In return, NYTVF Fellowship program pilot-makers will get the opportunity to attend and showcase their work at next year’s Banff fest.
‘Partnering with the NYTVF has created another forum to showcase Canadian talent on the international stage,’ said outgoing Banff executive director Jennifer Harkness in a release.
‘Banff has a tremendous reputation for celebrating innovation in television…the program offers a great opportunity for top independent TV creators in the U.S. and abroad,’ added NYTVF founder Terence Gray.
Banff is the third festival to join the PassPort program, following the MediaGuardian Edinburgh fest and the Rio de Janeiro fest.
Deadline for applications is July 31. Details are available at www.banf2008.com
