The repercussions of the female denizens of a western town deserting their families for a week made for such a popular reality show last season that CBC has renewed The Week the Women Went for another cycle.
The locale when the 8 x 60 series returns in January will be shifted from Hardisty, AB to Tatamagouche, NS.
‘We are very excited about profiling this unique maritime village to create the second season of this hit show,’ says Cal Shumiatcher, executive producer at Vancouver’s Paperny Films, who adds that his team was ‘thrilled with the warm reception we received from the Tatamagouche community.’
As with the first season of Women Went, the series is part social experiment, part docu-soap, with each episode chronicling the drama, humor, frustration and fun that occurs when the men in a small fishing village are pushed to their limits while without female support.
