Breakthrough Entertainment has sold its Jimmy Two Shoes series to Toon Disney. The Jetix programming block on the Disney channel has picked up the U.S. cable rights for the new cartoon series (26 x 30) in a deal announced Friday.
The series — about an upbeat young boy’s adventures in his home town of Miseryville — is also due to air on Teletoon and Jetix Europe early next year. It is produced by Breakthrough Animation and distributed by its sibling, Breakthrough Entertainment.
The series has benefited from its creative team taking a ‘step outside the conventional storytelling process,’ said Breakthrough partner Kevin Gillis in a statement. ‘This…promises a to be a fresh, new entertainment experience for kids on many platforms and levels.’ Jimmy Two Shoes went into production late last year.
