Rogers has signed a deal with Media Rights Capital and distributor ShineReveille that will bring eight new scripted series to Citytv stations in 2008/09.

Details of the deal, announced late Tuesday, remain sketchy, but cover the dramatic series I.M. Valentine, Easy Money and F.A.T. City; the comedies Rita Rocks, Outnumbered and Krod Mandoon; and two animated shows, The Life and Times of Tim and The Goode Family. All are produced by MRC and handled by ShineReveille, the international sales and distribution arm of L.A.’s Shine Group.

The deal takes effect in September and ‘provides a terrific Canadian home for our program lineup,’ said MRC Television president Keith Samples, in a release. ‘We look forward to working together to bring the best possible shows, marketing and promotion to the Canadian audience.’
