1964: Joins the Ottawa Journal as a reporter
1966: Moves to Toronto to co-host CTV’s new current affairs program W5, and becomes the first female reporter for CFTO
1967: Joins the CBC as on-air reporter
1976: Becomes executive producer of The National and news specials
1980: Becomes network program director for CBC English Television
1988: Becomes VP of television news, current affairs and Newsworld
1992: Named VP, CBC Regions (radio, television, English, French)
1993: Joins NetStar to launch Canadian Discovery Channel
1995: Discovery launches with McQueen as president
1999: Joins CTV as executive VP
2000: March – CTV acquires NetStar
2000: December – BCE buys CTV
2001: January – appointed president and COO of Bell Globemedia’s CTV Inc.
2001: December – announces her resignation
