Colm Feore will chair the international jury at this year’s Banff World Television Festival. The fest on Wednesday put the actor atop its five-member panel that will hand out six jury prizes, plus a grand prize, next month.
The jury will hand out two special jury prizes, and four new prizes — best doc, feature-length doc, entertainment program and drama. It will also present a grand jury prize for the best overall program at the festival.
Also on the jury are Daniele Doglio, consulting editor at Italy’s RAI; American Public Television CEO Cynthia Fenneman; Creative Business Wales CEO Robert Thomas; and Kerry Stauffer, producer, filmmaker and a director at The Banff Centre.
‘With the addition of four new prizes this year, we know that our jury will have a difficult task ahead in selecting from among the amazing programs submitted this year,’ said festival exec director Jennifer Harkness, in a release.
Feore last year won the festival’s award of distinction, in recognition of his work in projects including Chicago, Trudeau and Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould.
