CosmoTV voting goes mobile

CosmoTV has revealed the 12 finalists for its nationwide Bachelor Search, and is launching a public voting phase to the contest that lets users vote online or by text message, if they’re willing to put up a 50-cent fee. The channel will also publish a 2009 CosmoTV Bachelor Search calendar.

The contest was promoted on-air and in print for months. It drew ‘hundreds of submissions’ between January and March, says parent company Corus Entertainment. Viewers were invited to rate the men online. The public voting phase ends on May 28.

Oh So Cosmo, the channel’s flagship Wednesday 9 p.m. series, is profiling the finalists and will announce the winning bachelor in June.

The CosmoTV Bachelor Search is being executed in association with Elite Model Management Toronto, which had one judge on the panel selecting finalists. The net, available in 3.6 million homes, is a partnership between Corus Entertainment and Hearst Corporation, which publishes Cosmopolitan magazine.
