CCI, DHX close cartoon deals

CCI Entertainment continues to sell 2008 Cartoons on the Bay winner Frankenstein’s Cat, and has closed deals with Germany’s ARD and South Africa’s MNET. The channels join BBC 1, CBBC, ABC Australia, Cartoon Network France and other Nickelodeon International channels airing the traditionally animated 30 x 11 series.

Frankenstein’s Cat is based on the book by Curtis Jobling and produced by U.K.-based Mackinnon & Saunders and Kayenta Productions in France.

Another Nickelodeon outlet was also among the channels that this week picked up Super Why! from Decode Enterprises. The DHX Media-owned distributor has put the finishing touches on a number of deals for the preschooler show, which comes from Out of the Blue Enterprises.

The series, which is already airing in the U.S. on the PBS preschool block and here on CBC, now has a home on Nickelodeon UK. The series will also run on Singapore’s Kids Central, Korea’s KidsTalkTalk channel and others, though airdates have not been set. Decode holds worldwide rights to the show, excluding the U.S.
