Longtime Comedy Network exec Brent Haynes is leaving the fold at CTVglobemedia, and will exit the network next month after 10 years atop one of its premier cable channels, and just a few months after he was handed the reigns of Space.
But his destination remains unclear. A CTVgm spokesperson confirmed early Tuesday that Haynes will leave the company in May, but would not say where he will land. The company had no comment on rumors that he is in talks with MTV in New York, where he is said to be in the running for a programming post. MTV did not return calls for comment.
Haynes joined Comedy ahead of its launch in the late 1990s, following his boss Ed Robinson, and had a hand in hit shows including Corner Gas, Odd Job Jack and Keys to the VIP. He was last year promoted to VP of Comedy and Space, following CTVgm’s takeover of CHUM.
