Cookie Jar Entertainment has found a new playmate for interactive games based on its hit series Magi-Nation. The company this week named GoFish Corporation as its new in-game advertiser for the upcoming role-playing game Magi-Nation: Battle for the Moonlands.
The game is the first linked to the CBC kids series about a teenager transported to a magical world. The role-playing adventure game takes users to the fictional Moonlands, which are in danger and must be saved from impending doom. It launched in beta format on March 14. It is expected to have a full commercial launch in ‘early 2008.’
GoFish will be providing the ads for the free game, aimed at 8-14-year-olds. The advertising will be integrated into the game’s content and will be suitable for the target audience.
‘We chose GoFish because it has proven experience and success in catering to the children’s market,’ Kenneth Locker, Cookie Jar SVP of digital media, said in a statement. ‘The GoFish Network will help enable us to continue providing the best user experience for our players while generating additional revenue streams from Magi-Nation: Battle for the Moonlands.’
