• Six weeks after she exited Showcase, Rachel Fulford resurfaced this month at Blueprint Entertainment, joining the border-straddling company as VP of creative affairs. She arrives in step with U.S. veteran Michael Rosenberg, who has been posted to the company’s L.A. office as SVP of creative affairs.

• Jeff Brinton, the former head of communications at CFTPA, starts this month as the new Alberta film commissioner.

• CTVglobemedia has hired John R. Gossling as its new CFO. The former VP of financial operations at Rogers Communications starts April 7, taking over for the retiring Robin Fillingham.

• TSN has added another former star to its team for Canadian Football League broadcasts. Former fullback Duane Forde will join its analysts for all CFL broadcasts this year, premiering at the league’s amateur draft on April 30.

• Cineplex Entertainment has brought in Jason Fulsom as its VP of film. Fulsom will work with distributors as well as major and indie studios and within the multiplex giant, with its corporate sales and programming teams, to boost attendance.

• CEO Lisa de Wilde and chairman of the board Peter O’Brian have re-upped at TVOntario, both having signed three-year contract extensions.

• Terry Snazel, VP of technology at Bell ExpressVu, is now also the VP representing Canada for the North American Broadcasters Association.

• Gord Cutler has been named executive producer of the CTV/Rogers coverage of the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010 and the London Summer Games in 2012. Don Young is executive producer of Olympic features.

• Veteran sportscaster Jim Hughson has inked a new six-year agreement with CBC that will see him through the end of the network’s broadcast agreement with the NHL in 2013/14.

• Lawyer Andrew Heitelman has joined boutique entertainment law firm Duncan Morin LLP. Heitelman’s practice will include the firm’s usual television and film work as well as the media and technology sectors.
