TVA Films has tapped Brian Ware as its new director of marketing for English Canada, it was announced on Wednesday. The appointment is effective immediately.

Ware replaces Karynn Austin, who left TVA to become the new director of distribution and marketing at Equinoxe Films earlier this year.

He will be based in Toronto and will be responsible for all of the distributor’s corporate and film-specific marketing across all media. Ware spent eight years with Warner Bros. Entertainment, most recently as national exhibitor services manager for distribution. Ware also worked at Famous Players as its regional corporate event manager for the Toronto area.

‘With his energy and extensive experience, Brian is a welcome addition to the TVA Films team, as we continue to grow and seek to provide the best in innovative marketing and promotional services to our clients and media partners in the film industry,’ commented TVA president Yves Dion in a release.

Next on TVA’s film slate is Helen Hunt’s directorial debut Then She Found Me, opening April 25, in addition to Vadim Perelman’s The Life Before Her Eyes, starring Uma Thurman, scheduled for release on April 18.
