Cineplex Entertainment has appointed Jason Fulsom as its VP of film, effective immediately. Fulsom will work with distributors as well as major and indie studios. He will also collaborate with the multiplex giant’s corporate sales and programming teams to boost attendance.
The new position is a promotion for Fulsom after four years as exec director of film programming with Cineplex. He has worked the multiplex game since 1995, getting his start with former rival Famous Players and moving over to Cineplex when the latter bought FP in 2005.
His ‘experience, coupled with his numerous other talents, have resulted in his becoming one of the most respected and well liked film industry executives in the business,’ said Cineplex EVP of filmed entertainment Michael Kennedy, in a statement. ‘Jason is as solid as they come and demonstrates a passion for this business everyday. He is a great asset to Cineplex and I’m very proud to work with him.’
